Longhorn Dax Hill

As far as practice goes - when Eddie's droppin' the hammer on us - sometimes I definitely wish I was playing basketball.

Notes, Notes, & More Notes

First, the Thank You notes:

Thanks to our team for the gifts at the banquet. If you didn't get a chance to do so, please plan to sign the framed team pics one morning next week.

Thanks to our outstanding parent volunteers - Bill Brown, Valerie Mullaney, Don Shaft, and Janet Sheppard. We're losing a couple of them, but I know we have parents who will step in and help us out next year.

Thanks to Coach Huckabay for the kind words. I have been fortunate over the years. I've just been in the right places at the right times, I guess.

Thanks to Coach Salazar for being the unofficial THS assistant coach. He's always there when we need him, right?

Next, the Award Winners:

Girls

Newcomer - S. Christensen
Fighting Wolf - A. Lee
Outstanding - K. Brown

Boys

Newcomer - J. Pappas
Fighting Wolf - S. Colpaert
Outstanding - P. Sheppard

See our updated Awards History page
here.

Finally, a few announcements:

Ian, your plaque is in the office.

We'll start putting awards back in trophy case next week.

We still have a handful of swimmers I need to meet with. We'll try to line those up next week.

Summer training is just around the corner. Watch the MAC site for info on summer training groups.

Don't forget to email me for a summer weight program.
Life is often compared to a marathon, but
I think it is more like being a sprinter;
long stretches of hard work puncuated by
brief moments in which we are given the
opportunity to perform at our best.

Offer Still Good

This may not be the last of the cold weather. If you happen to be over across the lake this weekend, feel free to grab some wood. It's stacked in front and is easy to get to.

This Week

If you read this morning's Star-Telegram, you may have noticed our "shirt lady", Phyllice Holly, featured in an article on Super Bowl XLV vendors. Monogram Pro has used Mayrena's artwork to make our team shirts each of the past two seasons. View the article here.

Guys and gals who shaved for district and are advancing to the region meet should wear hose in practice for the next two weeks.

The morning group will splash at 6:00 a.m. each day this week.

We still have a few programs ($3) and shirts ($15) left.

We don't have any info yet on this Saturday's non-region meet. I will get that out to eligible swimmers as soon as I get it.
